British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday in Shanghai, taking the fourth race of the year on the F1 circuit.

Hamilton's teammate, Germany's Nico Rosberg, finished in second place, while Spain's Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) ended up in third place.

The British driver won his third straight race in Shanghai, finishing 18 seconds ahead of his teammate and cementing Mercedes's dominance in the early part of the season.

Rosberg remains in first place in the standings with 79 points, while Hamilton is close behind with 75 points and Alonso has 41 points.

Mercedes achieved its third consecutive one-two finish in Shanghai.

Hamilton covered 56 laps totaling 305.066 kilometers (189 miles) in 1:36:52.810 at the Shanghai raceway without any mechanical problems and little pressure from the other racers.

The next challenge for the drivers will be the Spanish Grand Prix on May 11 at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmelo, Spain. EFE
