The referee who sent off Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid's draw with Athletic Bilbao on Sunday has been suspended for a month, according to reports in Spain.

Ronaldo was shown a red card for his reaction to a push from Carlos Gurpegi and a confrontation with Ander Iturraspe in the 75th minute of the Primera Division match which ended in a 1-1 draw.

According to Radio MARCA, the Spanish League Referees' Technical Committee (CTA) has decided to suspend referee Ayza Gamez from officiating any games for a month.

Real intend to appeal Ronaldo's red card and three-match ban.
