St Etienne coach Christophe Galtier had to be taken to hospital after he fell and was knocked unconscious during Tuesday morning's training session.
Galtier slipped and hit his head on a small goal he was carrying. He suffered a nasty cut to his face and newspaper L'Equipe reported that the 46-year-old was unconscious for around three minutes.
The club later released a statement on their website revealing that scans taken at the hospital had shown Galtier's injuries to be less serious than first feared.
The statement read: "This morning, after the workout, Christophe Galtier slipped on the ground carrying a metal mini goal.
"The coach of ASSE, whose head hit the goal, suffered a head injury which resulted in a loss of consciousness.
"Suffering from a deep wound in the right cheekbone, he was immediately supported by the medical staff of the club and then by firefighters and ambulance personnel.
"Additional tests performed at the hospital proved reassuring."
Les Verts' next game is away to Toulouse on Friday evening.
