German Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel won the German Grand Prix on Sunday, while Spain's Fernando Alonso, who drives for Ferrari, came in fourth.

The German Grand Prix is the ninth race of the Formula One season.

Vettel, the three-time defending Formula One drivers' champion and leader in this year's standings, finished ahead of Finnish Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen and French Lotus driver Romain Grosjean on the 4.6-kilometer Nürburgring circuit.

Sunday's win was the first in Germany by Vettel, who now has 157 points in the standings, followed by Alonso, with 123 points, and Raikkonen, with 116 points.

British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, who started in the pole position, finished in fifth place.

The Hungarian Grand Prix, the 10th race of the Formula One season, will take place on July 28 at the track in Hungaroring. EFE
