Giovanni Casillas scored on a cross from Abraham Coronado in the 86th minute to lift Chivas to a 1-0 win over Club America in a hotly contested exhibition match between the Mexican soccer rivals on Wednesday night.

The match was stopped at the end of regulation when a handful of fans stormed the field, causing the referees to end the game.

The tone of the evening was set before the match when a brawl between fans outside the stadium delayed the start of the game. Midway through the match, a scuffle between the players led to two ejections from both sides, including both team captains. There were a total of five yellow cards, four red cards and 19 fouls.

''Nothing good came out of this,'' Club America President Ricardo Pelaez said. ''Security and soccer wise, we're going to rethink what we do in the future real hard.''

While Chivas struggled this season, Club America won its 11th league title.
