Spain's national soccer team held a practice session ahead of Sunday's Confederation Cup final here against Brazil, although defensemen Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique were nursing injuries and did not take part.

La Roja's coaching staff opted for a light practice Friday, a day after Spain earned a grueling 0-0 (7-6) victory on penalty kicks over Italy in the semifinals.

Pique missed the recovery session due to a slight ankle sprain, while Ramos was out with a bruise, leaving Alvaro Arbeloa, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, David Silva, Jesus Navas, Pedro Rodriguez and Fernando Torres to train for 10 minutes before stretching.

The rest of the team, including midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who missed the semifinal match with a muscle ailment but is expected to start for Spain against Brazil, took part in a more intense practice session.

On Saturday, Spain's 23 players will practice at Maracana stadium, the venue for Sunday's final. EFE
