Italy's tax police carried out searches Tuesday at the offices of 41 professional soccer clubs, including Juventus and AC Milan, to collect documentation about player contracts.

The operation was part of a probe, led by prosecutors in Naples, into alleged tax evasion, money laundering and racketeering, Italian media said.

Besides Juventus and AC Milan, clubs facing scrutiny include other Serie A sides such as Napoli and Lazio.

The documents seized on Tuesday indicate a special interest in the contracts of players represented by agents Alejandro Mazzoni and Alessandro Moggi, according to the media accounts. EFE
