Former NFL head coach Bill Parcells and ex-players Warren Sapp, Cris Carter, Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden have been selected for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The names of the latest inductees into the Hall of Fame were released in New Orleans, where the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will play in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday.

Parcells was a head coach for 19 seasons with the New York Giants, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys.

The 71-year-old Parcells led the Giants to two Super Bowl titles and finished with a regular season record of 172-130-1 and a post-season record of 11-8.

Jerome Bettis, Charles Haley, Andre Reed, Michael Strahan and Aeneas Williams failed to get enough votes to be inducted this year.

The selection committee also did not pick Tim Brown, Kevin Greene, Will Shields and former owners Eddie DeBartolo Jr. and Art Moddell for induction. EFE
