American Serena Williams, who has won 15 majors, said Sunday following her 6-2, 6-1 win against countrywoman Varvara Lepchenko in Brisbane that she could win all four Grand Slam tournaments in 2013.

"(It's possible) for me definitely. Whoever wins the Australian Open will have that same thought, there's no way that Victoria (Azarenka) or Maria (Sharapova) or any of the other top players don't feel the same way," Williams said.

The 31-year-old Williams is trying to become the first woman since German great Steffi Graf in 1988 to win a calendar-year Slam.

Williams won all four majors between 2002 and 2003, giving her the so-called "Serena Slam."

The Brisbane International tennis tournament is a tune-up for the Australian Open, which begins on Jan. 14 and is the year's first Grand Slam event. EFE
