Nikolay Parshin, a legendary forward for Moscow's Spartak club in the 1950s, died on Sunday, the Russian soccer team said. He was 83.

Parshin played for Spartak from 1947 to 1957, when the team won the Soviet Union's Great Cup and was a two-time national champion.

He played internationally in 1955 and scored the first goal in the Soviet Union's 3-2 win over defending world champion Federal Republic of Germany. EFE
