Quarterback Cam Newton used both his arm and legs to lead the Carolina Panthers to a 30-22 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

Newton threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score against the Eagles in a battle of the worst teams in the National Football Conference.

The Panthers (3-8) scored on their first possession against the Eagles (3-8) when Newton hit tight end Gary Barnidge with a 24-yard pass.

Newton, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2010 and led Auburn University to a national championship, scored on a flying 1-yard run in the second half that will make the highlight reels.

Newton finished the game with 18 completions on 28 passes for 306 yards, while rookie Eagles QB Nick Foles, who was making just his second start, was 16 of 21 for 119 yards, with no TDs and no interceptions. EFE
