Serbia's Novak Djokovic has regained theNo. 1 spot in the ATP tennis rankings in the wake of Swiss greatRoger Federer's loss at the Swiss Indoors and his decision to pullout of the Paris Masters.

Spain's David Ferrer, winner of the Paris Masters with a 6-4, 6-3victory Sunday over Poland's Jerzy Janowicz, pulled closer tocountryman Rafael Nadal, who has been sidelined with a knee injury.

Djokovic is assured of finishing the 2012 season in the top spotafter being overtaken in July by Federer, while Ferrer could grabthe No. 4 spot from Nadal at the Masters Cup in London.

Britain's Andy Murray kept his hold on the No. 3 spot, whileArgentina's Juan Martin del Potro took the No. 7 spot from France'sJo-Wilfried Tsonga.
