Power forward Chris Bosh scored 40 points and guard Ray Allen came off the bench and hit a shot with 6.7 seconds remaining to give the Miami Heat a 119-116 win over the Denver Nuggets.
Bosh, who played 39 minutes, hit 15 of 22 field goals, was one of three on three-pointers and hit nine of 10 free throws in Saturday night's game in Miami.
Forward LeBron James came close to having a triple-double with 20 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, while Allen finished with 23 points for Miami.
Danilo Gallinari took a three-point shot for the Nuggets with two seconds left, but the ball hit the rim and Denver's opportunity to tie the game evaporated.
The Nuggets were led by Kenneth Faried and Andre Iguodala, who each had 22 points, while Andre Miller came off the bench to score 17 and Gallinari ended with 13 points.
Denver is off to an 0-3 start, while Miami is 2-1. EFE
