Guan Tianlang, a 14-year-old Chinese boy, will play for the green jacket at the Augusta Masters Tournament, one of the four contests on the pro Grand Slam circuit, after qualifying Sunday by winning the Asia-Pacific tourney in Thailand.

Tianlang - who is 14 years, 5 1/2 months old - will break a record for being the youngest competitor in the U.S. tournament, which will be played on April 8-14, 2013. Up to now, that record had been held by Italy's Matteo Manassero, who at age 16 participated in the tourney in 2010.

Tianlang, who last April was the youngest competitor on the European circuit, as well as in the Chinese Open and who last year became junior world champion with his win in San Diego, began playing golf at age 4. EFE
