A late goal by Spaniard Pablo Hernandez gave Swansea City a 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday and dropped the London club out of first place in the Barclays Premier League.
Chelsea opened the scoring at Liberty Stadium in Swansea in the 61st minute with a header by Nigerian left winger Victor Moses, but the absence of Spanish midfielder Juan Mata due to injury and defenseman John Terry - suspended for racial abuse - left the club vulnerable to a tying goal.
Although the Welsh side nearly ran out of time, it eventually got the equalizer when Hernandez's strike from the edge of the area eluded keeper Petr Cech's reach.
With the loss, Chelsea dropped one point behind Manchester United, which defeated Arsenal on Saturday 2-1 to take the lead in the standings with 24 points.
Manchester City then had a chance to move into a tie for first in the standings, but had to settle for just one point after playing West Ham United to a 0-0 draw. EFE
