Montpellier midfielder Karim Ait-Fana will be out for six months with a knee injury he sustained in training.

The 23-year-old Ait-Fana, who scored a spectacular goal against German side Schalke in the Champions League recently, said on his Twitter page Sunday that he picked up the injury in training on Thursday and further tests revealed he had ruptured ligaments.

His absence will be another blow to defending champion Montpellier, which has made a poor start to the season and is in 15th place after eight rounds.
