STOKE, England (AP) – Kevin Gameiro outshone Zlatan Ibrahimovic by scoring both goals as Paris Saint-Germain beat Sochaux 2-0 on Saturday to move provisionally into second place in the French league.
PSG started the season with three consecutive draws but has won its past four league games and five overall. Ibrahimovic was full of confidence after scoring eight goals in six games overall since joining the big spenders, yet he had a quiet match by his high standards.
With Ibrahimovic taking the limelight, PSG's other strikers have had little playing time this season. But despite making only four substitute appearances prior to the match, Gameiro looked razor sharp and took his goals well.
PSG has 15 points from seven matches, three fewer than leader Marseille and having played a game more.
