STOKE, England (AP) – Stoke earned its first win in the English Premier League thanks to Peter Crouch's twin strikes in beating visiting Swansea 2-0 on Saturday.
Crouch scored both in the first half at Britannia Stadium. Unwanted by England since he turned down a standby role for Euro 2012, he has five goals in all competitions.
Stoke had started the league with four draws and a loss. Swansea suffered a third straight loss.
Crouch headed in Glenn Whelan's corner kick in the 12th minute, and converted his own rebound nine minutes from halftime.
