Hearts ensured John McGlynn got off to winning start as the club's new boss after a 2-0 success over ten-man St Johnstone at Tynecastle.

John Sutton set Hearts on their way with the opener from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark and things got worse for St Johnstone when Gregory Tade was sent off for violent conduct seven minutes later.

David Templeton made the game safe for Hearts with a second goal eight minutes from time.

Darren McGregor's last-gasp goal earned St Mirren a 2-2 draw at home to Inverness .

Lewis Guy fired St Mirren in front on 32 minutes, but two goals in six second-half minutes from Nick Ross (70) and Billy McKay (76) turned the game in Inverness' favor.

However, St Mirren salvaged a point when McGregor scrambled home an equalizer in stoppage time and there was still time left for Guy to see red for the home side after an altercation.

SPL new boys Ross County picked up a point in their first ever game in the top flight with a goalless draw at home to Motherwell .
