DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) – Senegalese midfielder Issiar Dia has signed for Qatar league champions Lekhwiya from Turkish club Fenerbahce.
The Qatar Stars League, the country's top tier football league, said on its website Thursday that Lekhwiya paid nearly US$5 million for the player. No other details were given.
The 25-year-old Dia joined Fenerbahce in 2010 to win the league title with the Istanbul club a year later. He previously also played for French side Nancy.
The Senegal international played at the Africa Cup of Nation earlier this year, but missed last month's 2014 World Cup qualifiers with an injury.
Last week, Lekhwiya signed Tunisia international Youssef Msakni from Esperance.
Msakni will join the African Champions club in January.
