Genoa midfielder Miguel Veloso, who helped Portugal reach the European Championship semifinals, has signed a four-year deal with Dynamo Kiev.

''I liked the fact that they are a club with a rich history and lots of ambition,'' Veloso said.

He said Dynamo took an interest in him during Euro 2012, which was co-hosted by Ukraine, and the club was the most persuasive among the offers he entertained.

The 26-year-old was scoreless but featured in every minute of Portugal's five Euro 2012 matches.

Dynamo said Veloso will join the club in Austria where it was getting ready for its first match of the season against Donetsk Metalurh on July 14 in Kiev.
