FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) – Eintracht Frankfurt defender Martin Amedick is seeking help for burnout, ruling him out of action indefinitely.
The Bundesliga club says the 29-year-old Amedick informed management of his condition and will not train while undergoing the appropriate therapy.
Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Huebner says, ''We're aware of our responsibility for the health of our players and will strongly support Martin Amedick.''
The club says a date for the player's return to action can be set only after further treatment.
Amedick is the latest player to seek treatment after the suicide of Hannover goalkeeper Robert Enke in November 2009 following a bout of depression.
