LONDON (AP) – Arsenal has signed France striker Olivier Giroud from Montpellier.
The 25-year-old Giroud agreed to a long-term contract in north London on Monday following France's exit in the European Championship quarterfinals against Spain.
Giroud, top scorer with 21 goals for French champion Montpellier, made just three brief substitute appearances at Euro 2012.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Giroud will bring ''an additional dimension to our attacking options next season.''
Giroud says it was the ''philosophy of football and Arsene Wenger's `touch''' which attracted him to Arsenal.
