Italian Olympic Committee president Giovanni Petrucci is asking for sanctions after the country's national anthem was again whistled by rival fans during the European Championship .

Loud whistles emanated from Croatian supporters during the anthem before Thursday's 1-1 draw . Spain fans also whistled - albeit in lesser numbers - ahead of the opening Group C match with Italy, also a 1-1 draw.

Petrucci tells the ANSA news agency he'll have the Italian football federation seek sanctions from UEFA. He says, ''It can't go on like this.''
