Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen quit Twitter on Thursday after being criticized for his spelling and grammar.

The Venezuelan-American manager farewelled his 231,000 followers with a final message, "my last tweet. me ultimo tweet good luck buena suerte."

Later, prior to the Marlins game against the Braves in Atlanta, Guillen told reporters, "yeah, I hate Twitter."

"Don't follow me anymore. Twitter is a stupid thing. I never make money out of that," Guillen said, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

"When you speak Spanish, you speak Spanish. When you speak English, you don't know how to spell 'English.' Get a real job, get a life. I don't make money out of that. I'm done."

Guillen did not specify the exact reason why he was leaving the social network, but his spelling and grammar had been criticized after a post earlier in the day, where he wrote "nice roimd of golf whit the boys still bad but y have fun miss. thinking my hick."

The 48-year-old had paid his respects to his late-friend Kevin Hickey, the former White Sox assistant coach, with a round of golf in Atlanta earlier in the day, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

"People out there are nasty. Nasty," Guillen said. "I don't need that. I don't need the aggravation. So many nasty people that don't have nothing better to do. I'm not Kim Kardashian."
