WARKA, Poland (AP) – Croatia coach Slaven Bilic says defender Vedran Corluka has been given the all-clear to play in the team's European Championship opener against Ireland.
Bilic says doctors in Warsaw checked Corluka's left hamstring early Friday and found there was no reason why he couldn't play on Sunday.
Corluka, who has been on loan at German club Bayer Leverkusen from Tottenham, left training early on Thursday after complaining of pain in his hamstring.
Croatia have had an unfortunate few days on the injury front. Striker Ivica Olic was ruled out of the tournament last weekend after rupturing a thigh muscle in his right leg in a pre-tournament friendly against Norway. Croatia also lost midfielder Ivo Ilicevic on Thursday after he pulled a left calf muscle.
