MUNICH – Bayern Munich's doctor says Breno will be sidelined ''long-term'' after the Brazilian defender underwent knee surgery last week.
The operation was to remove an inflamed mucous membrane from Breno's right knee.
Doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt is quoted in Wednesday's edition of Munich's TZ newspaper as saying it is too soon to know when Breno will play again.
Mueller-Wohlfahrt says ''this is long-term, it needs time.''
Breno's contract expires at the end of the season. He is under investigation for suspected arson after his rented villa burned down in September.
