Qatar-based broadcaster Al-Jazeera has bought more television rights to screen French league matches over the next four season seasons.

The French Football League (LFP) said in a statement Thursday that Al-Jazeera has successfully acquired rights for six live league games and a further nine football TV shows in each of those seasons. No financial details were given.

Al-Jazeera's deal continues its buying spree of sports media rights in France. It already has bought international rights to screen French league games and French rights to show the Champions League for three seasons.

Al-Jazeera has Middle East and North African rights for the Champions League.
