LIBREVILLE, Gabon (AP) – Morocco coach Eric Gerets says striker Marouane Chamakh has a slight fever and won't train on Wednesday at the African Cup of Nations.
Gerets said Chamakh had ''a bit of a fever'' and would not travel to the team's training ground in the Gabonese capital Libreville. He would be assessed again on Thursday ahead of Morocco's next Group C game on Friday.
Asked what the illness was, Gerets said he wasn't sure yet but suggested it was not serious.
Chamakh started in the surprise 2-1 loss to Tunisia at Libreville's Stade de l'Amitie on Monday and was a doubt for the crucial second game against co-host Gabon at the same venue.
