Nigeria missed out on a place at next year's African Cup of Nations following a 2-2 home draw with Guinea on Saturday.

Guinea 's late equalizer in Abuja ensured it won Group B and relegated Nigeria to a growing list of high-profile absentees for the 2012 continental championship with fellow former champions Egypt and Cameroon also missing out.

Four-time African champion Ghana emerged from the erratic qualifying competition with a 2-0 victory at Sudan to seal its place as Group I winner.

Zambia also booked its place in the tournament to be played in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea as winner of Group C with a 0-0 home draw with Libya.
