Hernan Perez scored with a late header Saturday to rescue a 2-2 draw for Villarreal against 10-man Zaragoza in the sixth round of the Spanish league.

Zaragoza twice took the lead at the Madrigal Stadium, with Luis Garcia scoring in the 34th minute and Pablo Barrera re-establishing the lead just before halftime.

Giuseppe Rossi chipped a penalty to level the scores for the first time in the 41st minute and Perez found space at a corner to ensure a share of the points for Villarreal in the 84th, four minutes after Maurizio Lanzaro was sent off for Zaragoza.

Also Saturday, Osasuna had a 2-2 draw at home against Mallorca, while Racing Santander drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano.

Later, it was Valencia vs. Granada and Malaga vs. Getafe.

Among the matches to be played Sunday, Barcelona visits Sporting Gijon and Real Madrid travels to Espanyol, while league leader Real Betis hosts Levante.

Zaragoza made a bright start against Villarreal with Paulo Da Silva seeing his header from Garcia's right-wing corner saved by goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

Rossi was a constant threat for Villarreal but shot into the side netting from a tight angle when put through in the 17th minute.

Garcia put Zaragoza ahead when he swapped passes with Fernando Meira before controlling the return ball with his chest and firing a shot into the far corner.

Villarreal equalized in disputed fashion following a corner when the referee whistled for a foul in the box which was difficult to identify even in television replays.

Rossi beat Zaragoza goalkeeper Roberto with his first penalty, but was made to retake the kick after the referee decided he had illegally stalled during his run-up.

The Italian striker held his nerve and chipped the second effort down the middle of the goal and in off the crossbar.

Barrera put Zaragoza back in front with a goal on the counter attack in the 45th minute, but Perez rose to head home Senna's corner with the clock ticking down to earn a draw.

Elsewhere, Tomer Hemed scored two penalties as Mallorca rallied to a 2-2 draw at Osasuna. Raul Garcia got both goals for Osasuna.

In Santander, Raul Tamudo gave Rayo Vallecano the lead against Racing in the 20th minute, but the home side equalized through Adrian in the 59th.
