ROME (AP) – Boston executive Thomas DiBenedetto has become president of Roma.
DiBenedetto leads a four-man American group that became the first foreign majority owners of a Serie A club when they closed the deal last month.
Still, DiBenedetto had to be formally named president at a club board meeting Tuesday.
DiBenedetto says, ''We will continue to work intensively to bring to the passionate fans of AS Roma a team that they can be proud of.''
Roma has had a slow start to the season, beating Parma 1-0 Sunday for its first victory under new coach Luis Enrique.
