Turkish club Besiktas says it has filed a lawsuit against former player Matteo Ferrari at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, saying the defender left in violation of his contract.

Besiktas says it is seeking ?7.7 million ($10.5 million) from Ferrari in damages. Ferrari quit in August and has filed a case against Besiktas with CAS, saying he is owed several months' salary.
