TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (AP) – Allen Guevara played the role of super-sub for Costa Rican club Alajuelense, coming off the bench with ten minutes left and scoring twice to give the visitors a 4-2 win at Motagua of Honduras on Thursday in the CONCACAF Champions League.
The win gave Alajuelense six points from three games, level with Mexico's Morelia and Los Angeles Galaxy in Group A. Motagua has lost all three of its games.
In a game played on a sodden pitch, Motagua went ahead in the fifth minute through Jerry Bengtson.
Alajuelense equalized through Mario Giron late in the first half and Jonathan McDonald put the visitors ahead in the 51st.
Amado Guevara brought Motagua level in the 68th before Guevara's two strikes; the second a chip over the goalkeeper from long range.
