Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sven Bender is the latest player to pull out of Germany's upcoming games because of injury.

Germany coach Joachim Loew told reporters Tuesday that Bender returned to his club with an ankle injury picked up in Dortmund's draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Loew said he isn't calling up any replacements for Friday's European Championship qualifying game against Austria and next week's friendly in Poland.

Groin injuries forced Bayern Munich striker and Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Marco Reus to withdraw from the squad, while Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira wasn't called up, also due to a groin problem.
