Saint-Etienne has reached agreements to sign Romania midfielder Banel Nicolita from Steaua Bucharest and Ivory Coast forward Max Gradel from Leeds.

Saint-Etienne said on its website Tuesday that both players are expected to sign their contracts on Wednesday after completing their medical tests.

Gradel scored 18 league goals for second-tier club Leeds last season.

The 26-year-old Nicolita, who can play on either wing, scored 23 league goals in 188 games for Steaua, and has played 31 times for his country.
