Lyon has signed French defender Mouhamadou Dabo from Spanish club Sevilla on 4-year deal.

Lyon said Tuesday on its website that the 24-year-old Dabo will cost ?1 million ($1.42 million), which could rise to ?1.8 million ($2.56 million) at the end of the season, depending on performance-related incentives.

Dabo can play on either flank at fullback, and was with Lyon's rival Saint-Etienne before joining Sevilla last year.

Seven-time former champion Lyon also said Dabo's arrival means rightback Lamine Gassama is likely to leave the club.

Leftback Aly Cissokho has also been linked with a move away from Lyon.
