MADRID (AP) – France midfielder Lassana Diarra insists he will stay at Real Madrid despite reports suggesting a possible transfer to Tottenham.
Diarra told Spanish sport daily AS on Thursday he had not reached an agreement to join the English club and did not foresee anything developing before the close of the August transfer window.
Diarra was quoted as saying ''I have a contract with Real Madrid until 2013 and my coach is (Jose) Mourinho.''
Diarra has not featured in any of Madrid's preseason fixtures, including being left out of the squad for the Spanish Supercup series against Barcelona.
Spanish reports had suggested Diarra was on the move to north London in a ?12 million deal.
