Guadalajara defeated Monterrey 2-1 to overtake Unam Pumas at the top of the Apertura standings on Saturday.

Cesar Delgado put Monterrey in front after 24 minutes only for Marco Fabian to level from the spot four minutes later.

Darvin Chavez was sent off just before the hour mark and Guadalajara took full advantage, winning it through Alberto Medina's 78th-minute effort.

There were disappointing scenes at Santos Laguna's match against Morelia, with the match abandoned with no score after 40 minutes due to crowd trouble.

Tigres edged San Luis 1-0, Israel Jimenez nicking the winner in the 88th

minute.

Cruz Azul went third with a 2-1 win over Tijuana, despite a red card for

Emanuel Villa.

Villa scored the winning goal for his side after Dayro Moreno and Edixon Perea had cancelled each other out, but saw red 13 minutes from time.

In the remaining match, an own-goal by Christian Perez and a goal from Luis Rey handed Jaguares a 2-1 victory over Queretaro. Carlos Bueno was on target for the losing side.
