Manchester City is in the final stages of negotiations regarding the proposed signing of Arsenal's star forward Samir Nasri, Sky Sports reported Friday.

City has been chasing Nasri's signature all summer. Talks between both Premier League clubs are believed to be at an advanced stage and the Manchester outfit is hoping to make the talented midfielder its latest summer capture.

The 24-year-old's future at Arsenal has been the subject of conjecture for some time, with the Frenchman refusing to sign a new deal at the Emirates.

Gunners chief Arsene Wenger was hopeful of keeping one of his key men, but it appears he has now decided to sell rather than risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires next summer.

Nasri has not featured for Arsenal so far this season and it appears he is on the verge of sealing his move away from the London club.

His signing would be a major boost for City boss Roberto Mancini as he looks to mount a serious bid for the Premier League title this season.
