PRAGUE (AP) – Sparta Prague says it has signed Czech international midfielder Jiri Jarosik to a two-year contract.
Sparta said in a statement Saturday it also has an option to keep Jarosik for one more year. The 33-year-old moved to Sparta after his previous contract with Zaragoza in the top Spanish league expired in June.
Jarosik returns to Sparta, his former Czech club, after eight and a half seasons abroad. He joined CSKA Moscow in January 2003 before moving to Chelsea. His previous clubs also include Birmingham in the Premier League, Scottish side Celtic and Russian club Krylya Sovetov Samara.
Jarosik has played 23 international matches for the Czech Republic, but won his last cap in 2005.
