LYON, France (AP) – Lyon has signed central defender Bakary Kone from Guingamp on a five-year deal.
Lyon didn't give any financial details Friday.
The 23-year-old Kone played 112 league games for Guingamp, scoring five goals. He is the first signing for Lyon coach Remi Garde, who replaced Claude Puel at the start of the season.
Seven-time former champion Lyon won its opening match of the season at Nice 3-1 last weekend.
Kone, who is a Burkina Faso international, could make his debut at home against Ajaccio on Saturday with Brazilian defender Cris out injured.
