Former France winger Ludovic Giuly has joined Monaco on a two-year-deal.

Monaco announced the deal on its website Tuesday, without giving any further details.

The 35-year-old Giuly was released by PSG at the end of last season, after making 100 league appearances and scoring 16 goals in three seasons.

Former French champion Monaco was relegated to the second division last term, and Giuly says on the club's website that ''I could not allow myself to leave Monaco in this state, we will do everything to get back into the first division.''

Giuly scored 47 league goals in 184 games for Monaco between 1998 and 2004 - the year it reached the Champions League final.
