Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has called defenders Gaetano Berardi and Beg Ferati into a youthful 19-player squad to face Liechtenstein in a friendly in Vaduz next Wednesday.

Berardi, who plays for Italian club Brescia, is among seven players who featured at the Under-21 European Championship in June.

Kosovo-born Ferati's first selection at 24 comes after joining Bundesliga club Freiburg from Swiss champion FC Basel.

Marco Woelfli, the 28-year-old backup goalkeeper, is the oldest player in the squad.

Hitzfeld is rebuilding because Euro 2012 qualification is unlikely with the team six points behind England and Montenegro.
