Nigeria forward Kalu Uche has joined Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax from Spanish second-tier team Almeria.

Neuchatel says on its website that Uche has signed a two-year contract, but did not disclose the transfer fee.

The 28-year-old Uche scored two goals for Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup, in group-stage matches against Greece and South Korea.

Neuchatel says it has also signed Spain forward Javier Arizmendi on a seasonlong loan from Getafe.

Arizmendi, who's 27, played one international match four years ago.

Chechen-owned Neuchatel has not scored a goal while losing its first three matches this season. It is last in the 10-team Swiss league.
