France defeated South Korea 3-1 on Tuesday after late goals from Gueida Fofana and Alexandre Lacazette, leaving both teams' fates in doubt for making the knockout stage of the Under-20 World Cup.

Fofana scored in the 81st to break a 1-1 deadlock and Lacazette closed out the scoring in stoppage time.

Gilles Sunu gave France the lead in the 27th with Kim Young-uk equalizing in the 59th on a free kick.

Both teams have three points in Group A after two matches, with four points usually needed to make the next round.

France plays on Friday against Mali in Cali, and South Korea goes against the host team Colombia on the same day in Bogota.
