RALEIGH, North Carolina (AP) – Fabio Quagliarella scored in the first half to give Juventus a 1-0 win over Mexican club Guadalajara in a friendly on Thursday.
uagliarella took advantage of a slip by Chivas defender Jonny Magallon to score the game's only goal in the 12th minute, blasting a shot into the top left corner of the net.
Simone Pepe missed a few chances to make it 2-0 to the Italian club.
Jorge Mora hit the post with a free kick in the 80th minute for Guadalajara, which remained winless and scoreless in the series of friendlies in North America. Chivas was beaten 3-0 by Real Madrid on July 20 and faces Barcelona on Aug. 3 in Miami.
Three members of Mexico's under-17 World Cup winning team - Carlos Fierro, Giovanny Casillas and Jose Pablo Tostado - made their debuts for Guadalajara as second-half substitutes.
