HOUSTON (AP) – Kevin Davies and Ivan Klasnic scored to lead Bolton Wanderers to a 2-0 win over the Houston Dynamo in a friendly on Wednesday.
Bolton took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute when Davies headed into the box, and Klasnic, who was fighting for possession with Robinson, volleyed it into the net from eight yards out.
Bolton upped its lead to 2-0 in the 58th minute when Martin Petrov cut in from the left, got around the onrushing Houston goalkeeper Tyler Deric and crossed to Davies to tap in at the near post.
Houston had a chance to had a chance to cut the deficit in the 77th minute, but Danny Cruz's shot was blocked by Jussi Jaaskelainen. A minute later, Houston thought they had made it 2-1 when Jason Garey's header found the net, but it was ruled out for offside.
Petrov almost made it 3-0 in the 81st minute but his shot from outside the box on the right hit the far post.
