Dutch media are reporting that Feyenoord coach Mario Been has quit after most of the team's players said they had lost faith in his leadership.

The club did not immediately confirm the news Wednesday, but canceled its morning training session and scheduled a news conference for 1 p.m. (1100 GMT).

Been joined Feyenoord on a three-year contract in 2009 and has struggled to restore the fortunes of the financially troubled former Dutch powerhouse.

The team finished 10th in the Eredivisie last season as archrival Ajax won its 30th Dutch league title.
