The 28-year-old had recently used Twitter to reveal he was close to agreeing a move to the Russian Premier Liga side from Ajax. The former Go Ahead Eagles and AZ Alkmaar player, part of the Dutch squad that reached last year's World Cup final in South Africa, has joined his new team-mates at a training camp in Austria ahead of the second half of the Premier Liga season. Spartak are reported to have paid a fee in the region of 7million euros for De Zeeuw and a statement on the club website confirming the deal read: "28-year-old Dutch midfielder Demy de Zeeuw has joined Spartak on a long-term contract."
